“Hearts a Bluhm” Art Studio Now Open at the Shops at North Bridge
44 E. Grand Avenue is now home to 100 giant, five-foot acrylic hearts in the newly opened “Hearts a Bluhm Art Studio at the Shops at Northbridge,” where Columbia College Chicago artists and other supporters will begin to paint and embellish the heart sculptures in preparation for their debut on February 1 along The Magnificent Mile® in celebration of National Heart Month.
As the campaign’s artistic partner, Columbia College Chicago students, faculty, staff and alumni are currently busy decorating the hearts and providing artistic guidance for other exhibit participants as they adorn the heart sculptures in the spirit of heart health on behalf of Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. Artists will be working throughout December and January at the studio giving passersby the chance to grab a sneak peek through the windows.
Additionally, keep an eye out for a select few celebrity designed hearts, including one from each of Chicago’s sports teams!
This much-anticipated “Hearts a Bluhm” public art exhibit will feature the uniquely designed hearts prominently displayed with heart health facts to promote awareness and prevention of heart disease, the leading cause of death in America.
